PURPOSE OF THE EXHIBITION
The second edition of GLOBAL SOURCING—DONGGUAN succeeded holding its show for the second time at the Sheraton Dongguan on September 21-22, 2005. Selected firms were invited to participate to this cream of the crop audience for their innovative and high tech products geared to improve the technology & fashion available to factories in China. World-top shoe material companies such as Rogers Corporation, Bayer Corporation, American＆Efird, Jones & Vining were among the participants. Especially, it was honored with excellent attendance from such famous brands as Nike, Adidas, K-Swiss, New Balance, Timberland, Skechers, Stride rite, Paramont and Giorgiofabiani, Riedell, Diesel etc. A large contingent from Korea exposed to the visiting executive products as diverse as footbeds, adhesives, labels, textiles and reflective materials.
Dongguan, the heart of export-oriented shoe industry, has become the center of trade, R & D, sample making and production in China for the enormous export to the US and the EU. Completely 84 % of all shoe imports into the US come from China, and most from this area. Guangdong Shoe Manufacturers Association with powerful resources is a major supporter of this exhibition. Many well-known Chinese factories also attended the exhibition, such as Stella, Pou Chen, Glory Shoes, Top World, United Shoe, Luen Thai, Moonstar and many others.
The third edition of GLOBAL SOURCING—DONGGUAN will be held in the Sheraton Dongguan on September 19-20, 2006. At that time, purchasing executives, R ＆ D personnel, engineers and designers from the top footwear brands in the US and Europe will appear in the course of their fall sourcing visits to their factories in China and gathering in this Shoe City of the World, Dongguan, to exchange information.
